Analytics Lobotomy

I am picking up the old habit of commenting on / interacting with blogs I read.
For various reasons I try to keep up with the most active blogging community in the Netherlands that I know: MarketingFacts.
After checking the 6th comment from the bottom, go to the top to find the <to-my-opinion>, Google biased,</to-my-opinion>
story.
It is not in MarketingFacts' interest to piss off Google, but I find this type of story too propagandanstic. A more balanced opion would give the article much more credibility and would help in increasing the transparency of Google's intentions with it's toolset.
With analytics, Google makes the need for a businesscase to use expensive analytics tools quickly look silly for many websites. With its latest release, data is presented in a much more appealing way. On the downside however, you find less data then before. But who is complaining? It is, after all, a free service...
The thing is that I just can't believe that Google will resist the temptation to protect their interests by hiding information that may reveal a little bit too much about competitor's success, or Google screwups.
Update: I must say Google did a very tight job with the new Analytics interface. It
is very helpful. Why can't these great business be designed as a network of businesses from the start and remain networked rather than consolidated? Power corrupts...
